The sixth annual Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at locations throughout downtown Brunswick.

According to a news release, the event, hosted by the Brunswick Downtown Association, is designed to celebrate and foster an appreciation of the arts.

The news release continues to describe the event as follows:

Thousands of visitors flock to the sidewalks of Maine Street and on the adjacent Town Mall to enjoy the Brunswick Outdoor Arts Festival each year. From Mill Street to the Gazebo, Downtown Brunswick will be brimming with examples of art in all forms, styles and genres.

More than 90 juried artists and artisans will be displaying and selling their artwork along the sidewalks of Maine Street in mediums ranging from painting to sculpture, mixed media to graphics, drawing to photography, and fine arts to fine crafts.

A stage will be set up in front of the Bank of America building on Maine Street and will feature the following bands:

— 10 a.m. to noon, JimmyJo & the Jumbol’Ayuhs (Cajun)

— Noon to 2 p.m., Sean Mencher (rockabilly)

— 2 to 4 p.m., Backwoods Road Band (bluegrass/country)

There will also be roving musicians throughout the day, including T’Acadie, Broadband, No Banjos and Sharon Pyne.

And from noon to 4 p.m., David Bullard will present a number of singer/songwriters at the gazebo on the town mall.

Many activities will take place on the Mall. There will be performances from theater groups, various dance teams including Sage Square Dance Club, Studio 48 and Tony Zumba, as well as a wide variety of children’s events and art demonstrations, such as woodworking, basket weaving, spoon-carving, face painting, hula hooping, henna tattoos, jewelry making, a transparent painting wall and more.
