BRUNSWICK — Mid Coast Hospital, CHANS Home Health Care, Mid Coast Senior Health Center, and Thornton Oaks Retirement Community employees were recognized for their hard work and dedication during two receptions held in June.

According to a news release, Mid Coast’s senior administration presented nearly 250 individuals with awards, celebrating milestone service anniversaries in five-year increments. More than half of the employees recognized have worked at Mid Coast in excess of 10 years.

Lois Skillings, president and CEO, said that “thousands of times, each and every day, a Mid Coast employee touches the lives of our community members. It is due to the hard work and dedication of our employees that we are able to fulfill our mission of providing the highest quality health care to our community.”

The most tenured award recipient, celebrating 40 years of service, was Michael Pinkham. Pinkham began working with the organization at the age of 17, following in his father’s footsteps, who at the time was manager of facilities for Bath Memorial Hospital. Michael Pinkham serves as the director of Facili- ties Management for Mid Coast Hospital. He attributes his long-term employment to the “committed and loyal staff at the hospital,” including the crew of 13 that he directly oversees.

Award recipients also included Charlotte Trufant, who began working for Mid Coast while in high school, 35 years ago. She is the recreation and activities coordinator for the Mid Coast Senior Health Center.

Additionally, Melodie Burnham, medical records supervisor for CHANS Home Health Care, was honored for 25 years of service. Burnham said, “I am proud to work with people who believe in honesty, integrity and compassion for both their coworkers and for the people they serve.”
