Sanford police have charged two teenagers with arson after investigators determined a weekend fire in the basement of the Nasson Community Center was intentionally set.

Sanford firefighters called to the community center at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday after a fire alarm went off at the facility at 457 Main St. in Springvale.

They discovered a small fire in the basement, though the amount of damage has not been determined, according to a statement by Deputy Police Chief Timothy Strout.

The male teenagers, ages 13 and 14, were released to their parents.
