LISBON FALLS — Hall-Dale scored an early goal to answer the unbeaten Lisbon High School field hockey team in a Mountain Valley Conference contest on Wednesday.

The 1-11 Bulldogs might have woke up the Greyhounds, who rolled off an unanswered goal run in a 9-1 victory on a wet and slippery field.

“Rain, rain, rain, and this field, with our games, the middle school, hasn’t had a break, which makes things tough,” said Lisbon coach Julie Wescott, whose 11-0-1 squad will visit Telstar on Friday.

Arianna Kahler led the Lisbon offense with three goals, with Hanna Jordan chipping in two goals and two assists. Nichole Jones, Bailey Cutler, Olivia Harrington and Sarah Craig chipped in one goal each, with Molly Nicholson, Michaela Bedell, Charlotte Mooney, Cutler and Harrington picking up one assist apiece.

In goal, Stevie Charest had four saves in the win, allowing only a Nicole Pelletier goal.

Lisbon finished with a 26-5 shots advantage.
