Voters turned out early in Waterville, with a steady line of line of people throughout the morning.

Several local candidates greeted voters at the entrance to the Bourque-Lanigan American Legion Post 5 in Waterville. The two candidates competing for Kennebec and Somerset County district attorney, Republican Darrick Banda and Democrat Maeghan Maloney, also greeted voters outside the Waterville polling station this morning.

A steady stream of people flowed into the West Gardiner fire station. Clerks worked quickly to keep lines moving.

Lines formed in Farmingdale, at points stretching out the gymnasium door at Hall-Dale High School.
Voting clerks in Randolph said a lull in mid-morning was unusual. Voting had was very heavy earlier in the morning, they said, and picked up again around lunch time.

State Rep. Patsy Crockett, D-Augusta, who greeted voters at the Augusta Armory, said voting at that building had been relatively slow, but there were reports of a heavy turnout at the Augusta Civic Center.
