BOOTHBAY — Nap “Junior” Gagne passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 30, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Lisbon, ME on August 22, 1939 the son of the late Napoleon and Evelyn Cothran Gagne. He grew up in Bath and attended Morse High School.

After high school he joined the Army and served from May of 1959 to May of 1962. While in the Army one of his duty stations had him guarding the construction of the Berlin Wall. After his time in the service he returned home and began working for Diamond Machinery and then Bath Iron Works where he worked as a Burner until his retirement.

He enjoyed bowling and could often be found on the lanes with other members of the BIW League or the Merchants League. He was also an avid golfer; he was a member of the Bath Country Club for many years. He loved to play cards especially cribbage he could always be found playing with family and friends and would even try his hand in various local tournaments. One thing he really enjoyed was being able to contribute to fundraising events and volunteer with the Santa Claus Fund. He was a life member of the Bath lodge #934 of The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was a life time member of the American Legion Post #41 and Senior Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Patricia A. Gagne. Stepson James R Clark, Sister Florence Whalen, Brothers James “Freddie” Gagne, and Richard Dicky Gagne.

Survivors include his daughters Libby Farmer, and her husband Martin, of Woolwich, ME, Becky Brown, and her husband Richard of Woolwich, ME, Darlene Clark of Lewiston, ME; Stepson Wayne Clark of Lisbon, Me; Brothers Leonce Gagne and his wife Mary of Topsham, ME, Gerald Gagne and his wife Jannette of Bath, ME; Sisters Arlene Munsey and her husband Elliot of Bath, ME, Eleanor Irish and her husband Donald of Fl; Grandsons Petty Officer 1st Class Rick Alexander of Virginia Beach, VA, O’Riley Cornish of Bath, ME, Matthew Cornish and his wife Becca from Brunswick, James Clark of Boothbay, ME, Donnie Clark and his wife Sarah of Boothbay, ME, Justyn Temple and his wife Jacinta of Woolwich, ME; Granddaughters, Alexia Alexander of Bath, ME, Mardi Farmer of Woolwich, ME, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 am on November 10, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay. A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm at the Bath Salvation Army.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bath Salvation Army.
