Thornton Academy-Lawrence game opens full day of state championship football
Thornton Academy, the Western Class A champion, will meet undefeated Lawrence, the Eastern winner, at 11 a.m. Saturday – the first of the three state football title games at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland.
Winslow and Foxcroft Academy will play for the Class C championship at 2 p.m., followed by Marshwood against Mt. Blue in Class B at 6 p.m.
Tickets for Thornton-Lawrence game will be available at the Thornton Academy athletic office from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
Marshwood High will sell tickets from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday in the school’s main office.
Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for students and seniors (65 years and older).
PREP SCHOOLS
BOYS’ SOCCER: Hebron Academy will be home against Berwick Academy in a New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class C quarterfinal game at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The third-seeded Lumberjacks (11-2-2) defeated Hyde on Saturday for the Maine Association of Independent School Athletic Directors (MAISAD) league title. Berwick Academy is the sixth seed.
