PORTLAND – Olivia Shaw scored 16 points Thursday night to lead Thornton Academy to a 37-27 victory against Portland in an SMAA schoolgirl basketball game at the Portland Expo.

Thornton (7-5) wasn’t threatened after opening a 21-8 halftime lead.

Brianna Holdren paced Portland (3-9) with nine points, including two 3-pointers.

BOOTHBAY 47, OAK HILL 37: Morgan Crocker scored 17 points for the Seahawks (10-2), who closed with a 15-6 run to beat the Raiders (6-6) at Boothbay Harbor.

Grace Sabine led Oak Hill with nine points.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 41, SACOPEE VALLEY 19: Makayla Frost had nine points to lead the Raiders (3-9) past the Hawks (3-9) at Fryeburg.

Skye Dole and Julia Quinn each scored seven for the Raiders.

Morgan Sanborn paced Sacopee with nine points.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 79, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 21: Maria Valente and Stephanie Greaton each had 18 points as the Patriots (8-2) upended the Panthers (2-7) at Gray.

Julia Martell added 10 points for Gray-New Gloucester.

Chloe Leishman finished with 13 points for NYA.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 55, MT. VIEW 31: Sammie Griffin scored 12 points for the Panthers (4-7), who took a 15-5 first-quarter lead and beat the Mustangs (2-9) at Waldoboro.

Amanda Hendrickson-Belloguet scored nine points, and Taylor Simmons and Elise Wallace added eight apiece.

HYDE 45, PINE TREE ACADEMY 22: Katie Comeaux made three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points to lead the Phoenix (10-0) over the Breakers (1-9) at Bath.

Kara Fischer added 11 points, and Diamond Brown collected six points and eight rebounds for Hyde.

WELLS 38, FREEPORT 36: Alison Furness scored 14 points and blocked a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Warriors (4-7) over the Falcons (6-5) at Wells.

Wells led 37-29 in the fourth quarter before Freeport cut the deficit to one. Furness made a foul shot with eight seconds left.

Nina Davenport of Freeport scored 22 points, including three 3-pointers.

LISBON 40, WISCASSET 27: Denise Thomas totaled 15 points as the Greyhounds (4-7) beat the Wolverines (2-9) at Lisbon.

Bailey Madore chipped in nine points for Lisbon, which trailed 12-10 after the first quarter but outscored Wiscasset 11-1 in the second.

Kasey Cromwell paced the Wolverines with nine points.

OCEANSIDE 53, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 14: Brooke Dugan had 10 points as the Mariners (10-1) beat the Huskies (0-12) at Pittsfield.

Emily Gold and Phoebe Ferraiolo added eight points each for Oceanside.

Hannah Emery had six points for MCI.

WINSLOW 47, MORSE 36: Devin Fitzgibbons scored 12 points to lead the Black Raiders (5-7) over the Shipbuilders (4-7) at Winslow.

Alyssa Wood added 11 points for Winslow. Sadie Crosby scored 13 for Morse.

BOOTHBAY 71, OAK HILL 47: John Hepburn scored 10 of his 25 points in the third quarter as the Seahawks (11-1) pulled away from the Raiders (5-7) at Boothbay Harbor.

LAKE REGION 67, FREEPORT 59: Mike Mageles had 23 points, including six 3-pointers, to lift the Lakers (4-7) over the Falcons (1-9) at Naples.

Quinn Piland scored 14 points and Cody Gibbons finished with 11 for Lake Region, which led 51-49 heading into the final quarter.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 63, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 36: Andreas Kariotis scored 21 points as the Patriots (2-8) downed the Panthers (4-7) at Yarmouth.

David Chanlatte added 11 points for Gray-New Gloucester.

HYDE 65, PINE TREE ACADEMY 24: Evander Lenardson scored nine of his 19 points in the first quarter as the Phoenix (9-0) used pressure defense to open a 22-3 lead and cruised past the Breakers (4-7) at Bath.

Warsame Mohamed chipped in with 16 points, and Ben Burlock added 10 points, 13 rebounds, seven steals and four blocked shots for Hyde.

WINSLOW 66, MORSE 52: Austin Ireland scored 19 points for the Raiders (10-2), who took a 22-10 first-quarter lead and cruised past the Shipbuilders (4-7) at Bath.

LEWISTON 6, CHEVERUS 0: Erica Lemieux scored the first of her three goals 14 seconds into the game and also collected two assists as the Blue Devils (12-3) downed the Stags (4-9-1) at Portland Ice Arena.

Samantha Cole and Natalie Rousseau added one goal and two assists apiece, and Brianna Lajoie finished with 27 saves to record the shutout.

YORK 3, PORTLAND/DEERING 0: Tori Stocks, Rachel Yorke and Julianne Figioli scored as the Wildcats (9-3-1) shut out the Bulldogs (2-10-1) at Portland.

BOYS’ HOCKEY

CHEVERUS 5, CAPE ELIZABETH 2: James Hannigan had two goals and an assist to lead the Stags (8-1) past the Capers (3-6-1) at Portland Ice Arena.

Liam Fitzpatrick and Cameron McLain each added a goal and an assist, and Andrew MacGillivray also scored for Cheverus.
