PORTLAND — Amtrak says its Downeaster passenger rail service has resumed normal service between Maine and Boston.

The rail service says regular service resumed on Saturday. Service to Boston had been suspended after the Boston Marathon bombings and manhunt that followed.

Passengers who paid but choose not to travel due to the service disruption can receive a refund or a voucher for future travel. Some reservations booked online can be modified or canceled on Amtrak.com or by using the free Amtrak mobile app.
