Theresa M. Burden, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Bodwell House in Brunswick after a brief battle with cancer. She was born on September 19, 1936 in Kegan, Maine, the daughter of Gene Roy and Mary Louise Michaud.

On August 16, 1974 she married Ralph O. (Mike) Burden and resided in Phippsburg.

She was employed at Bath Iron Works in Department 30 until she retired. One of Theresa’s finest moments was when she rode the USS ARLEIGH BURKE, DDG 51 on her maiden voyage.

Theresa enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and adored her loving cats. She loved tending to her flower gardens and was also was a beautiful seamstress, crossstitcher and embroider. Her most enjoyment came with spending time with her loving family.

Surviving is her husband; her brother, Romeo Roy of Phippsburg; her four children, Deborah Carpenter and her husband Scott of Brunswick, Danny Fitch of Brunswick, Doug Fitch and his wife Gail of Phippsburg and Jason Burden and his wife Jennifer of Nashville, TN; three step children, Sharon Boucher and her husband Glenn of Los Angeles, CA, Bonnie Trader and her husband Rick of Avondale, AZ and Skip Burden of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; 14 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Small Point Baptist Church for friends and family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice and CHANS of Brunswick in her name.
