BATH — Olive L. Ward, 91, a resident at The Plant Home in Bath, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Bodwell House in Brunswick.

She was born in Auburn on January 30, 1922, a daughter of Earland F. and Madeline (Spencer) Tainter, where she attended Edward Little High School.

On September 1, 1951, she married Robert L. Ward, and moved from Augusta to West Bath in 1954.

She enjoyed collecting owls and bears and loved crossword puzzles.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert on April 6, 2010, and two brothers, Burchard Tainter of Falmouth and Donald Tainter Sr. of Winthrop.

She is survived by one son, James Ward and wife Pamela of West Bath, one daughter, Jean White and husband Albert Jr. of West Bath, two sisters, Doris Thorne and husband Edward of Newmarket, NH and Joanne Lasselle and husband Thomas of Hallowell, one sister-in-law, Carol Tainter of Whitefield, six grandchildren: Michael White and wife Nancy of Lake Dallas, TX; Mark White of Stateline, NV; Terry White and wife Missy of Hermon; Russell White of Bangor; Gena Reed of Brunswick; Andrew Ward and wife Erin of Derwood, MD, 11 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A committal service will be held at a later date at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 6 Chenell Drive, Suite 260, Concord, NH 03301.
