SCARBOROUGH — Maine’s top commercial fishing official is holding the last of a series of open meetings with lobstermen to discuss how the lobster-fishing season is going.

Marine Resources Commissioner Patrick Keliher is hosting a meeting Wednesday at Scarborough High School to gather information and ideas from lobstermen and share information about what’s going on elsewhere along the coast and in Canada.

The forum is the last of four meetings he’s held this month with fishermen. The others took place in Rockland, Machias and Ellsworth.

Lobster is Maine’s signature seafood and vital to the state’s coastal economy.
