BRUNSWICK — Sally Fitch, events coordinator at Thornton Hall and Mid Coast Senior Health Center, will present a program on Nov. 21, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. to help dementia patient caregivers plan outings and activities.
Titled “Having Fun! Activities For and With Your Loved One,” the talk will cover how to plan and communicate activities and outings to support successful outcomes. Fitch will discuss how to create activities that draw upon the individual’s life story to invoke and create positive memories.
After the presentation, Fitch will co-facilitate a group discussion with Cindy Hughes, activities director for The Garden, Memory Care Living at Mid Coast Senior Health Center.
This free support group is open to the public and meets the third Thursday of every month at 58 Baribeau Drive.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
