BRUNSWICK — In advance of its NCAA Tournament opener this Saturday, four members of the Bowdoin College women’s soccer team have earned All-New England Small College Athletic Conference honors in selections released Thursday.

Senior Becky Stoneman and sophomore Kiersten Turner were both named as First Team selections. Senior Molly Popolizio and sophomore Jamie Hofstetter were recognized as Second Team choices.

Stoneman, a co-captain for the Polar Bears this season, started all 15 games in the backfield for Bowdoin, anchoring a unit that permitted just 12 goals in 15 contests. She also pitched in offensively with a goal and two assists on the year.

Turner was one of the top offensive forces in the league and earned her first All-NESCAC selection after leading the league in goals (11) and points (26). Turner netted six game-winning goals and has recorded 17 goals and six assists over her first two seasons as a Polar Bear.

Molly Popolizio took her second All-NESCAC honor following another stellar year in the midfield for Bowdoin. Popolizio scored four goals and added a pair of assists for the Polar Bears, and has scored 12 goals with 11 assists in 64 career games.

Hofstetter earned her first All- Conference nod after another strong season up front for Bowdoin. A model of consistency, Hofstetter has played in every game over her first two years and has recorded 15 points in each season. This year, Hofstetter has six goals and three assists to her credit.
