AUGUSTA ( AP) — Employees of an egg farm in Turner have until February to vacate company-provided trailers and find new places to live.

Under an agreement reached in the Lewiston District Court last week, 10 tenant-employees of the former DeCoster Egg Farm will be evicted, given time to find new homes and jobs.

They could have been evicted as early as Christmas Day.

The Sun Journal reports that Moark, the company that took over the farm, is declining to say why it’s evicting the tenants from the trailers. A spokeswoman for the company says it’s been helping the tenants find new housing.

A worker says they were given rent-free housing as part of the job package, but several trailers have been closed.
