President Obama should be lauded for shaking the hand of Raul Castro at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service in South Africa. He will be criticized for this by some, but the Cold War as seen by President Kennedy is over.

Diplomacy with Cuba has to start somewhere, and why not now? Raul Castro is not perfect, but he is trying to change Cuba.

We have worked and supported other leaders with serious flaws. I believe now is the time to open serious dialogue with Cuba. It will only benefit the people of Cuba. When is enough, enough?
