BIDDEFORD — Robert N. Neault, 78, of Biddeford, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care after a long illness.
He was born April 12, 1935 in Biddeford, a son of Jeffrey and Emelda Martineau Neault.
Bob was educated locally and was a 1954 graduate of St. Louis High School.
He served in the U.S. Army in 1957 and subsequently was in the Army Reserve for six years.
Bob had worked in clothing sales at local stores, namely Langevin’s, Benoit’s, The Men’s Shop and Polakewich Men’s Store.
He had been a member of St. Jean Baptiste de Bienfaisance and the Knights of Columbus, Luke E. Hart Council, where he was a fourth-degree knight. He was a volunteer usher with the Portland Symphony and the Portland Concert Association and a member of
Maine Dignity.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Renald, Marcel and Maurice; and a sister, Theresa Horrigan.
Bob is survived by: his brother, Leo Neault of Maryland; niece, Nancy Watson and her husband Sam of Biddeford; nephew, Thomas Vandermeulen and his wife Tena of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; grandnieces, Jennifer Watson and Elizabeth Nelson; and several other nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 and also Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel.
