WENHAM, Mass. — Jeanne P. Collette, 86, of Wenham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at Emeritus Assisted Living in Danvers.

She was the loving wife of 42 years to the late Raymond L. Collette.

Born and raised in Biddeford, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Georgiana and Albert Pare.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, Class of 1945.

After graduation, she was employed by the Biddeford School System as secretary to the superintendent of schools.

In 1960, Jeanne and Ray moved to Wenham to raise their family.

Jeanne was a longtime parishioner of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Hamilton. For many years, Jeanne and Ray cherished the time spent with their children and grandchildren at the family summer home on Kezar Lake in Lovell, Maine. An avid bowler, Jeanne was active in multiple leagues in the surrounding communities. She was a loyal Patriots and Red Sox fan, and enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods. Jeanne was known for her outgoing personality, her love of music and passion for dancing. She brought smiles and laughter to everyone around her and all were welcome in her home.

She was preceded in death by: her sister, Cecile Croteau; brothers, Edmund and Norman Pare; and her son-in-law, Stewart Rogers.

Known as Mémère to all, she will be sadly missed by: her four children, James Collette and his wife Diane of Wenham, Donna Rogers of Salem, Sandra and her husband Don Cubbison of Hickory, N.C. and Susan Collette of Atkinson, N.H.

She also leaves behind: her grandchildren, Holly and husband Shawn Lynch, Katharine and husband Jeff Plett, Shannon and Shane Collette, Jessica and Ashley Rogers, and Daniel and Joshua Cubbison; and five great-grandchildren.

She is survived by: her twin brother, Arthur “Buck” Pare; her sister, Claire Cassavant; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Mackey Funeral Home, 22 Conant St. in Danvers, on Friday, Feb. 21 from 3:30-6:30 p.m., immediately followed by a prayer service 6:45 p.m. Graveside service will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. at the Wenham Cemetery, Main Street (Route 1A), Wenham.
