WELLS — Beth Jones, a mother and wife, will represent the Town of Wells for the second year in a row in competing for the title of Mrs. Maine America in the spring of 2015.

Jones grew up in Fargo, N.D. and moved to Maine 15 years ago with her husband, Travis. They moved from Sanford to Wells eight years ago with their two children, Samantha and Mason. Jones has worked at Moulison North Corporation in Biddeford for the past 14 years, in addition to being an online fitness coach.

Jones competed in the 2014 Mrs. Maine America Pageant this past April and placed as the third runner-up. She said she was amazed by her first pageant experience.

“What I found was that I was encircled with a group of remarkable women that were doing incredible things with their lives,” Jones said. “Each and every contestant was out there making a difference in the lives of others, in their own, unique way, and I was honored to share the stage with them.”

That’s the reason she has chosen to compete again, she said. Jones wants to get out in the community and volunteer, and said she is committed to being a positive role model for a healthy, happy lifestyle.

Jones will compete in three categories for the Mrs. Maine America title: personal interview, swimsuit and evening gown. Contestants for the Mrs. Maine America Pageant must be married and live in the city or county they represent. The winner will receive a prize package and will go on to compete for the national title of Mrs. America.

The Mrs. America Pageant is the only nationally televised pageant for married women in the country. Mrs. America celebrates the achievements, poise and personality of today’s married women, according to the organization.
