SACO — Raoul G. Paquette, 92, of Saco, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home in Saco.

He was born in St. Honore, Quebec, Canada on April 11, 1922, to Albert and Obeline Begin Paquette.

He immigrated to the U.S. in 1934, where upon he began to work in the mills to support a growing family.

In 1958, he began his own construction business.

On July 14, 1945, he married Therese Borduas at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.

Raoul enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots play. He loved the days he would spend at the lake, boating and at family gatherings. He also enjoyed fishing, reading and working around his home.

He was preceded in death by: two sisters, Simonne Perron and Jeanette Courtois; and a brother, Rene Paquette.

Raoul is survived by: his loving wife of 69 years, Therese Borduas Paquette of Saco; two sons, Normand and his wife Carmen of Waterboro and Bernard and his wife Madeleine of Saco; one daughter, Gisele Paquette of Saco; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six brothers, Rev. Hubert Paquet, John Paquet, Gerard Paquette, Urbain Paquette and Roger Paquet, all of Biddeford, and Rev. Fernand Paquet of Ossening, New York; three sisters, Therese Gagnon, Marguerite Poirier and Helen Berube, all of Biddeford; and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of Southern Maine for their excellent and caring work.

Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.
