BRUNSWICK — Robert C. Greenlaw, age 72, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at a local hospital.

He was born Sept. 21, 1941, in Portland, a son of Byron E. and Mae Rollins Greenlaw. He attended North Yarmouth Academy in Yarmouth, and graduated from Southbridge High School, N.Y., in 1959.

He married Patricia Ann Adams on Oct. 20, 1962, in Yarmouth. Mrs. Greenlaw died Oct. 15, 2000.

Following high school, Mr. Greenlaw briefly served with the U.S. Navy. He later was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Portland. He was a master electrician for over 20 years with SW&B Construction, Auburn.

He was a founding member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Topsham. He formerly served as chief constable and as selectman for Pownal. He touted himself a numismatist, but also found plenty of time to hunt and fish, and to do even more hunting and fishing.

He is predeceased by a son, Robert.

He is survived by a son, Steven Greenlaw and his wife, Sarah of Harpswell; a daughter, Deborah Norzow and her husband, Alex of Bowdoin; six brothers, Michael Greenlaw of Bath, Byron Greenlaw and his wife, Betty Lou of Depere, Wis., Samuel Greenlaw and his wife, Suzanne of Littleton, N.H., David Greenlaw and his wife, Pricilla of Apopka, Fla., Peter Greenlaw and his wife, Deborah of Prosperity, S.C., and Addison Greenlaw and his wife, Judy of Dartmouth, Mass.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 214 Topsham Fair Mall Road, Topsham. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Pownal.
