GEORGETOWN — Susan Tracy Panzani, 72, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at the HillHouse Assisted Living Facility in Bath on Saturday, July 12, 2014.

Originally hailing from West Hartford, Conn., she was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and was a high school English teacher in South Florida for most of her professional life.

Tracy, as she was known by most, was an active member of the Georgetown community. She worked with special needs children after moving to Georgetown and was soon inspired by the Maine landscape to become a pastel painter.

Tracy was a member of the Georgetown Working League, an active participant in the Celebration of the Arts, and one of the founders of the Old Post Office Gallery. It was Georgetown, Maine, that nurtured her love of art, nature, and all the best of the New England way of life.

She is survived by her sister, Sally Eastman and her husband, William Eastman; son, Giancarlo Panzani and daughter-in-law Pam Panzani; daughter, Marisa Panzani and daughter-in-law Josie Carbone; grandson, Matteo Panzani; and her beloved canine companion McDuff. She will be greatly missed.
