WISCASSET — Meredith Jones, 72, of Wiscasset, passed into Glory on Sept. 6, 2014, surrounded by his children. He had valiantly battled cancer for over three years.

Meredith enjoyed golf, bowling, and watching his grandchildren play and grow. He was a faithful father and grandfather, being a constant presence at games, concerts, and graduations.

He is survived by two sisters, Joanne Severance and her husband Freddy of Farmingdale, and Dolly Hayward and her husband Frank of Wiscasset, two brothers, Davey Jones and his wife Patti of Palermo, and twin brother Mickey Jones and his wife Crystal of Wiscasset. He is also survived by three sons, Darren Jones and his wife Leanne of Westport, Matthew Jones and his wife Paula of Bryant Pond, and Mark Jones and his wife Denise of Bath, and one daughter Rachel Jones and her husband Dan Renzi of Wiscasset. A graveside service for Meredith will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at the Alna Cemetery at 2 p.m., followed by a reception at the Bible Baptist Church in Wiscasset. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bible Baptist Church in Wiscasset.

His family would like to thank the awesome staffs at CHANS and HillHouse Assisted Living for their sweet care of “Jonesie.”
