BATH — James Owen Brewster, 66, of Bath, died unexpectedly at his home on Aug. 30, 2014. He was born the son of James Kenneth and Elizabeth (Dauphin) Brewster on Dec. 17, 1948.

Jim graduated from Morse High School in Bath, class of 1968. He was a star athlete, excelling in baseball and basketball. Jim was described in his yearbook as “Mr. Athletic.” He enjoyed spending leisure time with his cousins, picnicking at Popham and Crescent beaches.

After graduating from college, Jim dedicated himself to his work at Bath Iron Works as an outside machinist for 35 years. He enjoyed many recreational activities, including boating, cooking, fishing and hunting.

James was predeceased by his parents.

He leaves behind an aunt, Cynthia M. Dauphin of Bath, and eight cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at the Elks Club, 9 Lambard St. in Bath on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at 2 p.m. Photos and stories about Jim’s life would be welcomed.
