Ron Bancroft’s Oct. 18 column (“Maine Voices: Maine desperately needs an adult in the Blaine House”) is typical of the demeaning attitude toward Democrat Mike Michaud on the part of independent Eliot Cutler and, apparently, one of his supporters.
It’s outrageous to imply that a public servant like Mike Michaud, who has devoted years to serving Maine people in the Legislature and Congress, is not an adult.
Campaigns often give rise to ludicrous statements, but Cutler’s condescending attitude during the recent debate toward the other two candidates makes me seriously question whether or not he has the temperament to lead the Legislature and state government.
I’m voting for Mike Michaud, the Democratic candidate for governor, because I’ve known him since I lived in northern Maine and he was my state senator. He’s the most accessible, honest and dedicated politician I’ve ever known.
I’m proud to support Mike Michaud for governor.
