PLYMOUTH, N.H. — Jennifer Poulin scored twice and Amanda Kasbohm made 13 saves Tuesday as seventh-seeded Southern Maine defeated second-seeded Plymouth State 4-1 in a Little East Conference quarterfinal at Plymouth, New Hampshire.

USM will play in the semifinals Thursday at UMass-Dartmouth.

After Nikki Garvey scored her conference-leading 18th goal in the ninth minute for the Panthers (12-5), Poulin tied it in the 20th minute and Tayla Smedberg made it 2-1 just before halftime.

Poulin set up Leanne Reichert in the 57th minute, then put in a pass from Peyton Dostie three minutes later.

Marina Davidson made her fourth defensive save when she cleared a ball off the goal line after the Huskies (9-12) took a 3-1 lead.
