BATH

Sagadahoc Preservation, Inc. is pleased to present a lecture by Earle G. Shettleworth, Jr., entitled “Greetings from Bath, Maine: A Collection of Bath Post Cards,” on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at Winter Street Center, 880 Washington Street in Bath.

Shettleworth, the Director of the Maine Historic Preservation Commission and State Historian, will discuss how the common post card bore witness to the City of Bath’s transformation from 1900 to 1950, and now provides an invaluable visual record of the people, places and events of Bath. Topics to be discussed will include the advent of the automobile, construction of the Carleton Bridge and shipbuilding for two world wars.

Free and open to the public, this lecture is the second of Sagadahoc Preservation, Inc.’s 2014-15 lecture series. For more information, please telephone 443-2174 or visit www.sagadahocpreservation.org.
