PORTLAND — Registration is open to women who would like to take Rape Aggression Defense classes sponsored by the Police Department in January 2015.
Held over five sessions at the Police Department at 109 Middle St., the course will teach personal safety tips and physical self-defense skills. The first four classes will be held 6-9 p.m. on Jan 13, 15, 16 and 22. The final class will be held from 8 a.m.-noon on Jan 24.
The $25 course fee benefits the Amy St. Laurent Foundation, created in memory of Amy St. Laurent, who was murdered in 2001. For more information and to register, visit the foundation website, email ppdrad@portlandmaine.gov, or call 874-8643.
