LEWISTON — Emily Llerena, Mackenzie Griffin and Taylor Higgins combined for 51 points on 68 percent shooting to lead Trinity College to a 67-64 victory over the Bates College women’s basketball team Friday night in New England Small College Athletic Conference action.

The visiting Bantams (6-9, 1-2 NESCAC) shot 58-percent from the floor.

Allie Coppola had 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Bernadette Connors chipped in 14 points to lead the host Bobcats, who were without their leading scorer, senior Molly Brown, for the first time this season. Brown may miss the rest of the season due to injury.

Former Freeport standout Nina Davenport had seven points in the loss, while Lyse Henshaw of Brunswick had six points, including a bucket that tied the game, 58-58, late in regulation.

The Bobcats hosted thirdranked Amherst on Saturday, falling 82-47.

The Jeffs improved to 15-1, 3-1 in NESCAC play, while Bates fell to 9-7 overall and 0- 3 in the conference.

Ali Doswell led four Amherst players in double figures with 17 points.

Davenport scored nine points in the loss.
