BRUNSWICK — Louise W. Sheppard, 88, resident of Brunswick, died at her home on March 10, 2015. She was born Oct. 30, 1926, in West Chester, PA, a daughter of Ralph and Edith Wood. A graduate of Swarthmore High School in Pennsylvania, Louise then studied at the University of New Hampshire for two years and later received her Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) degree from St. Mary’s Junior College. She worked for five years at Residence for the Elderly, in the activities department.

Louise met her husband, Bob, while in high school. They were married in 1947, and enjoyed 64 years in a loving marriage.

After living in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, they moved in 1959 to St. Paul, Minn., where they raised their two children. After retirement, they moved to North Carolina before moving to Maine in 2004.

Louise was devoted to her family. She loved children and animals, and enjoyed engaging in play with them. She was very creative and artistic, enjoying painting, flower arranging, gardening, outdoor activities, fiber arts and baking.

She was a woman of great kindness, caring and patience. She brought much love and joy to family and friends with her love of life, caring heart, her wisdom, and her warm smile.

Survivors include a son, Rob Sheppard, and his wife, Vicky, of Lomita, CA, a daughter, Judy Segal, and her husband, Ken, of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Sammi and Adam Sheppard of CA, and Christine Twining (husband Ben Twining) of Brunswick; and three greatgrandchildren, Semma, Oscar and Nathaniel Twining.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2015, at Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church, 84 Main St., Topsham, ME.

In lieu of sending flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maine Habitat for Humanity, Seven Rivers/ Maine, 126 Main St., Topsham or to the Mid-Coast Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 211, Topsham, ME 04086 in Louise Sheppard’s memory. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home in Brunswick.
