Volunteers Pam and Brent Spooner of Phippsburg help sort thousands of donated books for the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary’s annual Spring Used Book Sale Thursday, April 2, and Friday, April 3. The sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, at the Mid Coast Hospital Café Conference Rooms, 123 Medical Center Drive in Brunswick. The proceeds of the sale will benefit health career scholarships for area Midcoast students (who must apply by April 15 with the application on www.midcoasthealth.com/volunteer). Jean Cyr, book sale chairperson for the Auxiliary, encourages patrons to take totes for their books and to enjoy the “hunt” in search of a special title. “ You never know what books you are going to find at our sale,” she said. “We have a huge number of books this year, thanks to so many generous donors.”
