A Hiram man was seriously injured in a crash on H Road in Acton late Thursday night, said the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they were called to the site, near Anderson Cove Road, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. They said a 2006 Dodge pickup truck had gone off the road and hit a tree, with the passenger side of the truck hitting hardest.

They said the passenger in the truck, Phillip Davis, 35, of Hiram, was unconscious when they arrived. Davis was taken by helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was in critical condition Friday night, the hospital said.

The driver, Cuinn McConnell, 22, of Effingham, New Hampshire, was taken to Goodall Hospital in Sanford, where he was treated for a broken wrist and released.

The sheriff’s office said alcohol and excessive speed are believed to have been factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
