PORTLAND (AP) — Police say a motorcycle rider has died in Maine’s largest city.

Portland police say the rider of a Harley-Davidson lost control and crashed early Thursday on Brighton Avenue.

The rider’s name wasn’t immediately released.

Police say he wasn’t wearing a helmet and that he appeared to have hit a tree. An investigation was underway.
