Two people were robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night on outer Forest Avenue in Portland.

Portland police said the 26-year-old man and 32-year-old woman from Windham were talking outside their cars in the Tortilla Flats parking lot at about 10:20 p.m. when two men approached them with handguns drawn.

The two suspects, both described as black males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, demanded money and ended up taking the woman’s purse and a mobile phone.

They fled on foot into a nearby apartment complex, according to police. The victims were not injured.

A police dog tracked the suspects into the Riverton Housing complex but they were not located.

Anyone who was in the area and may have seen the perpetrators is asked to call police at 874-8533.
