READFIELD — Down after three quarters, the Freeport High School girls basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter, coming up just short in a 29-23 loss to Maranacook on Saturday.

Ireland Hall and Alexa Koenig had five points each for the Falcons, with Becca Pierce and Christine Dennison adding four points apiece. Annie Kelley was strong on defense for Freeport, with Brooke Toothaker a standout.

Freeport finished 3-of-8 at the free-throw line.
