BRUNSWICK

The Oasis Free Clinics, which provides free medical, mental health and dental care, as well as prescription assistance for uninsured, low-income residents of southern Midcoast Maine, has announced the selection of Anita Ruff as its new executive director. Ruff will replace interim executive director, Andree Appel, who will continue as Oasis’ Clinical Director.

“We are very pleased to announce our selection,” said Dr. Richard Corbin, the Oasis Free Clinics board president. “Anita will bring leadership and enthusiasm to Oasis’ programs. She has the knowledge, skills, experience and passion to lead Oasis into the future and will serve as an advocate for our patients.”

Ruff ’s experience includes almost 20 years of government and non-profit program planning, administration, communications and marketing experience. She earned a Master of Public Health degree in Community Health Education ANITA RUFF from the University of Tennessee and is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist.

Ruff has held leadership positions at MaineHealth, Maine Medical Center and the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She also serves as adjunct faculty in the University of Southern Maine Muskie School of Public Service.

“I am excited to partner with the Oasis staff and Board of Directors. The Oasis Free Clinics play a vital role in our community, and I look forward to working together to make a significant impact on the health of low income Mainers,” said Ruff.
