Dr. David Dumont has been appointed to Senior Medical Director of Quality and Acute Care at Mid Coast–Parkview Health. In this new role, he will manage acute care medical services, providing leadership and oversight of quality and safety. Dr. Dumont joins a robust team that supports medical staff services, education, and strategic accountable care initiatives throughout the organization.

“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Dumont in this new leadership role,” said Scott Mills, MD, Vice President of Medical Staff Administration and Chief Medical Officer at Mid Coast–Parkview Health.

“He has extensive experience in this arena and is very capable of providing system-wide accountability and management of our acute care services. His leadership allows us to continue to deliver the highest-quality care with emphasis on patient satisfaction and cost reduction.”

Dumont joined the active medical staff at Mid Coast Hospital in spring 2015 as a hospitalist. For the previous

26 years, he worked as a physician at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln, Maine where he was an emergency physician and hospitalist and started the organization’s hospitalist program. He held various leadership positions during his tenure at Penobscot Valley, culminating with Chief Medical Officer and Chief of Emergency Medicine.

“I think that my training and experience have prepared me well to assist in a leadership capacity as Mid Coast–Parkview evolves as a regional healthcare provider,” Dumont said.
