The statement made by District 2 Representative Brenda Clough regarding the inclusion of Jewish holidays on the Brunswick school calendar is offensive and demonstrates a shocking lack of understanding with an underscore of provincialism not befitting a board member.

To say that Judaism is no more an “outside group” than Christianity is a statement of the obvious.

Whether the holidays are incorporated into the calendar is secondary to the attitude demonstrated by a representative in this community.

Not too “jazzed” or any other musical genre’d about this appallingly narrow-minded verbal nonsense.
