BRUNSWICK — Thomas Hanson led the way with 10 points as the Brunswick High School boys basketball team captured a 53-34 Class A South win over Biddeford on Friday.

Hanson scored eight of his points in the opening quarter as the Dragons grabbed a 16-2 lead. Brunswick led 26-10 at the half and 34-22 through three.

The Eagles outscored the Windjammers, 19-9, in the fourth quarter for Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win on Friday at Rockport.

Tied at 40 through 24 minutes, Shyheim Ulrickson tallied 11 of his game-high 26 points down the stretch for the win. Ulrickson was 9-of- 10 from the free-throw line in the final frame.

Zach Small led the way with 24 points as the Bobcats captured an East-West Conference win over Buckfield on Saturday.

Richmond, 8-3 and slated to visit North Yarmouth Academy on Tuesday, led 14-13, 25-21 and 37-28 at the quarter breaks.

The Bulldogs put up 46 second-half points for a Mountain Valley Conference win on Friday.

Lisbon fell to 6-8 and hosts Carrabec tonight at 7 p.m. Hall-Dale improved to 10-5.

Noah Carter led Lisbon with 17 points, followed by Tyrese Joseph with 12 and Troy Galarneau with 11.

Girls

FREEPORT — Taylor Rinaldi and Regan Lynch each had 12 points to lead a balanced attack as Freeport earned a Western Maine Conference 53-46 victory over Kennebunk on Friday.

The Falcons improved to 8-6 and hosts Poland on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Jess Wall chipped in 10 points and Kayla Belanger eight. Freeport finished 14-of-23 at the free-throw line.

At Farmingdale on Friday, Hall-Dale held off a Lisbon rally en route to a MVC win.

The Greyhounds (6-8) were paced by Jasmine Le with 13 points. Bree Sautter tallied nine and Kaylin Le added seven. Lisbon will look to bounce back on Tuesday at home against Carrabec at 7 p.m.

Mackenzie Abbott had 13 points to power the Bobcats (10-2) to an EWC win over Buckfield on Saturday.

Sydney Tilton had six points and 12 rebounds in the win, while Caitlin Kendrick scored 11 points.

Brunswick jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead and never looked back in a Class A South win on Friday.

Sabrina Armstrong had 19 points to pace Brunswick, while Madeline Suhr added 12 points. Charlotte MacMillan chipped in nine and Emily Black had five.

Unified

LEWISTON — The Unified basketball season began on Friday, with Brunswick falling to Lewiston, 38-23.

Romil Peck-Moad led the Dragons with eight points, while Ketty Stinson had 12 rebounds. Tim Humphrey nailed a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter.

The Greyhounds opened their season with a home win on Friday.

Brock Vachon led the Lisbon (1-0) win with 14 points, with Jake Patenaude adding 13. Amanda Mason and Dawson Martel played well on defense.

Keirsten Caldwell had a game-high 16 points for Yarmouth (0-1).
