Maine Republican U.S. Sen. Margaret Chase Smith was the first in her party to speak up against the bigoted Sen. Joseph McCarthy decades ago.
Why doesn’t our present Maine Republican U.S. senator, Susan Collins, speak up for the record against the bigoted Donald Trump, who is running for president as a Republican, as well as the bigoted present Maine Gov. Paul LePage, who is also a Republican and has shamed the population of Maine with his rants and raves against immigrants, people of color, et al.?
I find her lack in these matters alarming.
