Gov. LePage and his supporters regularly claim that his actions are undertaken for “the people of Maine.”
Let’s remember that in the last election in 2014, he was elected with 48 percent of the vote! But only about 63 percent of registered voters actually voted.
Consequently his election was by one-third of those registered to vote and less than 25 percent of the total population of the state. Hardly a mandate by “the people of Maine.”
Two out of three registered voters didn’t support him. I certainly don’t.
