Rogers Ace Hardware, a family owned business in Bath, recently announced the sale of its business to Rocky’s Ace Hardware, a multi-generational business in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Rogers Ace Hardware, established in 1872, has been serving residents in the Midcoast region for more than 140 years. The current 28,000- square-foot retail store has been located on 55 Congress Ave. in Bath since 1985. Owner John Hichborn and the Rogers family have also owned and run the Bath business for four generations.
“I’m certain our customers will be impressed with the addition of the Rocky’s Ace Hardware family to our community,” Hichborn said in a press release. “I am genuinely pleased to find another successful Ace retailer, who shares so many of our values, to acquire our family business.”
Rocco Falcone is the president and CEO of the Massachusetts based business, which currently operates stores in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and now Maine.
“John and Gayle Hichborn, along with their loyal staff, are known in the greater Bath area for their knowledge and passion for offering expert advice. We look forward to serving the Rogers’ customers with the same quality of service and friendship that they have enjoyed and depended on for so many years,” Falcone said.
