BRUNSWICK — Shirley (Mosher) Moffitt, 85, graduated to heaven on Sunday, January 31, 2016, from her home in Brunswick, Maine. Born on June 24, 1930, to James Vinal and Geneva Maxine Hunnewell, she is preceded in death by those parents, her sister, Norma Scopino, and her brother, Steven Hunnewell. She is survived by one sister, Carole Hunnewell of Brunswick, Maine, and her three children, Darrell (and Sandy), of Garner, NC, Lauri Bailey (and Jerome) of Woolwich, and David (and Bonnie) of Munfordville, KY. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Shirley graduated from Morse High School in 1948 and immediately began working for her father at the Hunnewell IGA and Post Office in Woolwich. She eventually became an official postal clerk. In January, 1969, she officially assumed the responsibilities of Postmaster, following her father and mother in that role. She served over 30 years in the Postal Service and retired in 1985.

Shirley was a continuous member of the Maine State Grange for 71 1/2 years. She was also a member of the Open Bible Baptist Church in Bath, Maine.
