PORTLAND — Paul’s Food Center at 585 Congress St., in business for 40 years, will close next month.
The announcement was made March 18, along with news of the sale of the building by the Trusiani family to Hammond Heirs LLC and Paul’s Boutique LLC. The sale of the block extending from 585-593 Congress St. by the Trusianis also entails commercial spaces occupied by Vinland, Yes Books and 14 apartments.
Erin Kiley, a partner in the LLCs and owner of Portland Flea-for-All on Kennebec Street, said Paul’s Boutique LLC bought the Paul’s Food Center space, but did not comment on what will replace the store.
Paul Trusiani, owner of Paul’s Food Center, died in September 2015.
