KENNEBUNK — Esther M. Bush, 81, a longtime resident of Kennebunk and Arundel, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, in Kennebunk following a period of failing health.

Esther was born May 11, 1935, in Biddeford, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth Inniss Wormwood, and attended Arundel and Kennebunk schools.

In 1952, she married the love of her life, Joseph F. Bush Sr., and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage and raised their five children.

She always put her family first, creating a loving and warm home for her family, and supporting and following her children’s and eventually grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities.

Esther and Joseph spent many winters in Avon Park, Florida. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and taking camping trips with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Bush Sr., who passed away Feb. 27, 2016, and by a sonin law, Rick Dues.

She is survived by: a son, Joseph F. Bush Jr. and his wife Beth of Kennebunk; four daughters, Evelyn Cole and husband Kenneth, Cindy Dues, and Diane Reynolds, all of Kennebunk, and Karen Lapera of Avon Park, Florida; one brother, Reuben Inniss of Arundel; 12 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Holy Spirit Parish – St. Martha’s Church, Kennebunk. Interment for Joseph and Esther Bush will follow, with military honors for Joseph, in Woodlawn Cemetery in Biddeford.
