Baked bean supper
The Edes Falls Sewing Circle is once again putting on that great hearty Bean Supper this Saturday, June 11, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Enjoy homemade goodies and great company at the most affordable, delicious meal in town. If you have any questions, call Priscilla at 693-4456.

The graduates
This Sunday, June 12, the Lake Region High School class of 2016 will celebrate the amazing milestone of finishing high school. Congrats to all of you! I have been hearing and seeing many reports of how great our seniors from Naples have done in their high school careers. So proud of you all, now go out and chase your dreams!

Blues fest
Our very own Lake Region High School SKAZ Cats, the school’s jazz ensemble led by Dr. Paul Greenstone, will perform at the Maine Blue’s Festival on Father’s Day weekend. Head to the Village Green Saturday, June 18, at 4 p.m. to hear some great jazz, scatting and more. It is always fun to watch the youngins’ get into some great music outside of the norm for teens.

Duck Drop
Also on Father’s Day weekend, the Naples Public Library annual Duck Drop will take place Saturday, June 18, on the town green. With the help of the Q-Team of Naples, the ducks are dropped from high in the sky. Will your duck land in the hoop? Tickets for the fundraiser will be available for $5 at the town green on the day of the drop and in advance at the library, the Country Sleigh and the Black Bear Cafe, all on Route 302. There are $300, $100 and $50 cash prizes available. All proceeds go to the library, so get your ducks in a row.

Mattresses, mattresses, mattresses!
I guess that jingle works. You know, the one I hear incessantly over the radio? Good news is you don’t need to travel to that store to get a new mattress. The Lake Region High School lacrosse and track teams are holding a Mattress Fundraiser Sale Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Stevens Brook Elementary School. So invest in a “lifestyle adjustable bed” sleep system, save up to 50 percent on new, brand-name mattresses and support the LRHS LAX and track programs.

Summer Concert Series
Sunday, June 26, marks the beginning of the Naples Summer Concert Series at the Village Green. Fryeburg Fair’s favorite oldies but goodies performer Jose Duddy will entertain. All shows are from 6 p.m-7 p.m. In case of rain, the show will be at the Naples Methodist Church.

40 years!
Congratulations are in order to Mrs. Martin at Songo Locks School. She has taught in SAD 61 for 40 years – wow!. She is simply an amazing teacher, and I speak from experience as my daughter was a student of hers. I would imagine that we could fill this newspaper with stories from readers about how caring and talented Mrs. Martin was to them over the years ( and still is.)
