FREEPORT — Kathleen Rose Prindall passed away peacefully on June 30, 2016, at Hawthorne House in Freeport, where she had been a resident for the last three years.

Kathleen was born on Feb. 16, 1935, the daughter of Arthur Gray and Mary Overez Cushing.

Her siblings were Charles, Lafayette, Phillip, Phyllis, Cecelia, Bessie, Geraldine, Mae, Arlene, Eugene, and a brother who passed away shortly after his birth. She married Robert Prindall in 1952 and is survived by a daughter, Patricia Smith and her husband Emil, of Freeport, and a son, Bruce of Durham.

She was predeceased by her much-loved daughter-in-law, Sally Prindall. Her husband Bob passed away in 2009.

She worked for L.L.Bean for over 35 years and after her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, walking in the woods, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Lisa Coombs and her husband Guy, Chad Smith and his wife April, and Brandon, Brett and Travis Prindall. She had four great-grandchildren, Chris Smith, Melinda Coombs, Gavin and Lillian Smith.

Kathleen’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hawthorne House for the loving care that she was given while she was there.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Funeral Alternatives. The family will have a private service at the Lunt Memorial Cemetery.
