The message of Flowers
Never underestimate the power of flowers to comfort, heal, and delight the senses. When God created the world he provided fertile soil in which to grow food to nourish our bodies, trees to provide fruit, grass for grazing animals, and flowers which serve no purpose other than to give us pleasure. Flowers are the unspoken language of love, right from the ubiquitous dandelion, (so little children will have something to pick and give to their mothers) to the most exotic orchid. Flowers play a part in every important occasion of our lives from birth to death. Can you imagine a wedding or a funeral without flowers? Flowers grace the tables at banquets and receptions. We wear them close to our hearts in corsages and boutonnieres. A large bouquet may convey a special message, while a single rose can speak volumes. Flower gardens are now all in full bloom with black-eyed susans, asters, chrysanthemums, and many others. It is God’s way of saying to us, “You are my beloved ones, and I care about you.” God is lavish in his love for us. So sit up and take notice. Each blossom conveys a message of love.
