SACO — Edith M. MacDonald, 79, life-long residence of 18 Boothby Lane, Saco, passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2016.

Edith worked three jobs throughout her life: cleaning cottages in Old Orchard Beach in the summer months, private care to Tony Boisvert for over 25 years, and she went on to nursing. She became a C.N.A, then earned her L.P.N and earned her R.N. and worked at Webber Hospital up to her retirement in 2010.

Edith was preceded in death by: her mom, Nathalie Spear on Feb. 8,1988; her only sibling, a sister, Laura Phillips passed away May 7, 2016; her late husband, David MacDonald in 2012; and her first husband, Arnold Blow who she remained very good friends with and cared for him until his passing.

Edith is survived by: her nephew, Norman (Sonny) who cared for her in her home for eight years till her passing; her niece, Roberta Ishola of Fayetteville, North Carolina who traveled every month to help care for her; nephews, Victor Carter and his wife Jaimie Albert Belanger Sr., Albert Belanger Jr., Justin Deschaine and his wife Dominque, Laura, Raequann, Nastasia Lunt, Deeanna Collins and her husband Adam, Jessica Carter, Pamela and Justice all of Lewiston, Nathalie, Lilly and her husband Harold, Brenda Terjelian, and Theordore Terjelian of Lewiston; and numerous great-nieces and nephews of the Lewiston area.

Edith enjoyed her house that she lived in since she was 16 years old. She will be missed by her family and all her animals that she cared for.

Services will be private.
