Honoring veterans
The Stephen W. Manchester Post 62 of the American Legion will conduct a ceremony a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, at Riverbank Park on Main Street. The public is encouraged to attend.
Woman’s club to meet
The GFWC Westbrook Woman’s Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St.
The topic will be Wreaths Across America and Christmas baskets for shut-ins. Guests are welcome to attend.
Poetry series
Lowry’s Lodge monthly poetry series will continue at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Continuum for Creativity, 863 Main St., Westbrook.
Zanne Langlois and Richard Foerster will be the featured poets. Anna Wrobel and Jim Donnelly are hosts in the series.
Refreshments will be served; and a $4 donation is suggested.
Westbrook officials including Mayor Colleen Hilton and councilors Anna Turcotte and Michael Foley welcomed a media delegation from Westbrook’s sister-city of Archangel, Russia at City Hall last week. The event celebrated the 28th anniversary of the relationship, and a new informational display.
